Welcome to 'A Point of View' - this picturesque 1800 sq.ft. cottage on the stunning north shore of Little Kennisis Lake lies in the heart of the Haliburton Highlands. With 3 cozy bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, and an open-concept design featuring cathedral ceilings and breathtaking views, you'll feel right at home from the moment you arrive. Updated in 2018, this bright and clean 4-season retreat offers all the comfort and charm you could ask for.
The cottage comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests with a mix of well-appointed beds: 1 king, 2 doubles, and 1 twin. Please note that one of the twin beds is an upper bunk, best suited for individuals under 150 lbs.
The welcoming great room includes a flat-screen TV with Bell satellite, unlimited high-speed internet, and Wi-Fi — perfect for movie nights or keeping connected. Gather around the large harvest dining table or enjoy casual meals at the kitchen’s breakfast bar. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances—fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher—and all the essentials for preparing delicious family meals and BBQ feasts.
Downstairs, an additional 430 sq.ft. of living space offers endless entertainment: a pool table, ping pong table, dart board, bar area with bar fridge, and an extra TV sitting area with a pellet stove. You’ll also find two convenient mudroom entries and a separate laundry/utility room.
Step outside from the games room to a gently sloping, private waterfront—ideal for evening fires at the fire pit or friendly games of horseshoes and bocce ball. There is a walk-in area into the clear, sparkling lake or jump into the deeper water off the large dock. Spend your days fishing, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, or lounging on the water mat.
The expansive upper deck provides gorgeous lake views and includes a BBQ and comfortable seating—perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or a relaxing evening glass of wine while taking in the sunset.
This south-facing point lot offers all-day sun, big lake views, and plenty of shoreline privacy. For the adventurers, nearby hiking and biking trails await exploration.
Winter brings a new kind of magic! The year-round municipal road gives easy access to winter fun including ice fishing, skiing, and groomed snowmobile and ATV trails.
Kennisis Lake Marina is just minutes away and offers rentals for both summer and winter sports—including boats and jet skis. A nearby boat launch is available for those bringing their own watercraft. Anglers will love the stocked small-mouth bass and lake trout in the surrounding waters.
Need supplies? Groceries, an LCBO, and a Beer Store are just a short drive away. Don’t miss the Haliburton Forest & Wildlife Reserve and the incredible Wolf Centre, or take a scenic 35-minute drive into Haliburton to explore local events, shops, and dining.
Come experience the joy of cottage life in the beautiful Haliburton Highlands.
You may never want to leave!

- July, 2021 - This cottage was perfect for our family! The dock and waterfront was great with plenty of seating and the canoe, kayaks and water mat were thoroughly used and enjoyed. The downstairs rec room with its many activities was a great entertainment for our 2 teenage boys and the home itself was beautifully maintained decorated and fully equipped. The surroundings were so peaceful and we hated to leave!

- August 2020 - We had the absolute pleasure of staying at the above cottage of the Brownsdon family last week.
Can you let the owners know we really are thankful that they allowed us to spend time in their home. It was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. With the rain the pool and ping pong tables and dart board got lots of use and championship games abounded. I have one son who is an avid reader who in no time got to the library of books and the types he likes.
Please send our deepest gratitude to the Brownsdon family we will definitely think of coming back should we be welcome. A special thank you too for the gift of the bottle of wine. It was a nice surprise to start our stay.
