Waterfront & Swimming
From the upper deck, twenty steps lead down to the water. The view from the dock is expansive and breathtaking.

A key feature to our rental cottage is its natural shoreline (145' of frontage) with a large 200 sq ft stationary dock situated right at the waters’ edge. Extending from the stationary dock is a large 12’x20’ floating dock with swim ladder. There is primarily deep water swimming from the dock with a limited rocky shallow area.

The swimming conditions are perfect with clean, clear water and no weeds.

A canoe, 2 kayaks and 14’ aluminum boat (no motor) are available for your enjoyment on the lake. (renters must provide their own life preservers)

If you want to bring your own power boat, our lake offers the Kennisis Lake Marina where you can launch your boat or should you prefer to rent a watercraft, this is also an option but book early for better selection.

  • We had a wonderful time at your cottage. As soon as we walked in the door we were blown away by the amazing !!! The cottage is a fantastic combination of old and new but mostly we loved the rustic feel – exactly what we were looking for when we were searching for a vacation rental. My family enjoyed all of the outdoor activities available – made good use of the kayaks, row boat, lots of swimming and a few long walks. Thank for the wine ! The extra little touches made us feel so welcomed. I will gladly recommend your cottage to family and friends. We made many great memories! Carole & Family

  • We loved our week at your cottage…Rain and shine. Your directions are great – especially as you enter the twisty turning road. The pictures on the internet do not do your cottage justice. The lake view is spectacular! We golfed twice at Lakeside – their food is excellent and they have a lot of wine and dinner specials. Very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you for the wine. • What can we say! We absolutely loved your cottage. From the moment we walked in from the rain and came face to face with cleverly placed “help yourself” ponchos all the way through to the thoughtful “in case you forgot” basket in the master bedroom. Your piece of paradise is so well thought out….and clearly well laid out and taken care of. All the way down to even the little details of lined fridge drawers….we knew it would be just a wonderful week. We were comfy and thanks to the pre-set fireplace…nice and toasty too. Thank you. Your home is truly special and we did our best to take care of it on your behalf. Thank you so much for opening your home away from home to us. The views from your beautiful deck, dining table and great room were spectacular! We hope to come back at the next opportunity. Sept. 4, 2017 - Sincerely, Angelo and Jacquie

  • We just returned home from our week at the Saunders cottage and we had a wonderful time. I had a chance to meet the owners as we were leaving this morning and we told them how lovely and beautiful their property is.

  • Good afternoon: We really enjoyed our stay at Bear Necessities. We commented that the pictures did not do the cottage justice. The view from the great room was exactly what we were looking for. The owners left us the information again as well as a lovely bottle of wine- nice touch! If we could have cranked up the temperature of the lake and reduced the amount of rain, glad to have the opportunity to read and play games with our adult children. We took the opportunity to golf on two days at Lakeside. They had a really nice lunch menu. Put in a word for them. Thank you again, enjoy the remainder of your summer. Roseanne
