Surrounded by 2 acres of lush forest where you feel secluded from the hustle and bustle, you will be in awe of the towering pines, stately birch and age old hemlock. Keep a watchful eye as local wildlife which might appear from anywhere! A photographers dream!

Farquhar Lake is located in Haliburton County, 5 minutes from the town of Wilberforce, convenient for groceries and other vacation necessities. The lake is a typical Canadian Shield lake, with 800 acres of deep clear waters, ideal for swimming, fishing, windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing - the list goes on. Winters on Farquhar Lake offer a variety of activities; ice fishing, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling and of course skiing at nearby Sir Sam's Ski area. This property has everything you need and more for the vacation of a lifetime.

Inside is magnificent, this newly built, 5 bedroom cottage exudes quality. The large living areas and expansive windows make it a place you'll never want to leave. This 2 story cottage has two large bedrooms upstairs, 1 on the main floor and 2 in the lower level. The bed sizes are as follows: 5 queens, 3 singles. The bathrooms, 1 on the main and 1 second level have bathtubs and showers, ideal for families with young children. The gourmet kitchen has a large counter space, pantry, fridge, stove and a dishwasher to help you spend more time relaxing and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Dining room table can seat 10 comfortably. There is also a laundry room on the main floor.

This retreat is loaded with extras such as: games room including foosball table, air hockey table, satellite television, puzzles, and board games. A 50" Sony Letter box LED 3D Flat Screen TV, with a 3D Sony Blu-ray player connected to it, yes it has a few free HDMI ports. There is also unlimited WiFi Internet available to stream web content. The large living area has LazyBoy recliners to relax by the wood burning stove. There is also a BBQ , patio table and wooden picnic table on the deck for those summer dinners. A fire pit in the beach area is convenient for late night bonfires and gazing up at the star filled night sky. And we have added another wooden picnic table at the beach area as well .

At the waterfront you may enjoy a kayak, a canoe, a paddleboat and a large floating dock to spend lazy afternoons on the beach admiring the breath taking views.
An 8HP outboard motor is available for the 12' boat (comes with full tank of gas, and must be left with full tank of gas) for $300/week ($50/day for weekends). Valid boaters licenses are mandatory for the operator of all motorized watercraft. Please note you must supply your own life preservers.

The pathway to the lake is a cushioned bed of pine needles. There is lots of parking on the very private driveway.

Just bring your linen and personal towels with you ! that's all !! There are 5 bedrooms, one queen size bed in each room, 3 twin auto- inflating mattresses can be made available if required. The pullout bed in the basement is double.

We live in an apartment, so it was great to be able to go for a refreshing swim. It was so peaceful and quiet and such lovely surroundings too. No noise from cars, motorcycles or workers ( we have had workers fixing up the outside of our building for months now and the noise has been constant and annoying! ) , so it was pure heaven not having to listen to that. That silence was good for our hearts and our souls. I was thrilled to see 8 deer total, some wild turkeys and two foxes! I am an animal lover to the core so that was awesome!
